Bryncethin 50 Cardiff Saracens 15
Bryncethin maintained their unbeaten record in this comfortable victory against visitors Cardiff Saracens.
Tries in the first half for Bryncethin came two a piece from centres Chris Williams and Rhoddy Daives with 3 conversions from Gareth Pearce. Cardiff Saracens came back with two tries to leave the half time score at 26-10.
In the second half Williams crossed for his hat trick before wing Russel Johns crossed wide out. Scrum half Ray Bayliss crossed next for Bryncethin with a break away try before second row Gareth Brooking scored.
Pearce converted two of Bryncethin's second half tries.
It was Saracens who had the final score of the game with a try in the closing minutes to leave the final score at 50-15.

Llanharan 2nds 10 Bryncethin 32
Holders Bryncethin secured a place in this years final of the Encoh Lewis cup with this excellent away win against Llanharan 2nds. Bryncethin opened the scoring with a penalty from outside half Gareth Pearce and this was followed with a try by prop Nigel Evans that resulted from a rolling maul by the Bryncethin eight.
Pearce convereted and there were further tries from scrum half David Barry and wing Russel John that left the half time score att 22-0.
In the second half Pearce kicked a further penalty and converted a try from stand in wing forward Neil Hopkins. Llanharan responded with a penalty and converted try of their own to leave the final score at 32-10. Once again the foundation for the win was created by a strong performance from the Bryncethin pack in which Huw King, Jimmy Smith and Paul Evans stood out. Next weekend Bryncethin entertain Cardiff Saracens when they will try to defend their unbeaten record in the Cardiff and District League.
Bryncethin 2nds 26 Cimla 1st XV 48
Bryncethin seconds with a number of players unavailable worked hard against a good Cimla side but went down by 48 points to 26. Bryncethin opened the scoring with a try wide out by wing Steven Jones before Cimla took advantage of the conditions and raced into a 33-5 half time lead. It was Bryncethin who had the better of the second half with tries from prop Huw Rogers and back row men Peter Puacca and Steven Bayliss. Outside half Simon Partridge converted all 3 to leave the final score at 26-48.
CIACS 12 V 89 Bryncethin
On Saturday Bryncethin followed up their excellent Worthington Cup win with an 89-12 win over Cardiff Internationals in a match that saw Lloyd Jenkins score a personal haul of 46 points.
Next week Bryncethin travel to Llanharan 2nds for the semi final of the Encoch Lewis Cup.
Bryncethin 14 V 6 Caerau Ely
Bryncethin took a huge step towards retaining the Worthington Welsh Districts Cup with this excellent semi-final win against Caerau Ely at Blackwood. In a bruising battle the Bryncethin 8 worked hard to gain the upper hand and were dominant in the last quarter of the game. Caerau Ely took the lead with a penalty before Gareth Pearce equalled the scores and a further exchange of penalties left the scores at 6-6 before wing Chris Williams pounced on a kick ahead to cross for a good try. In the second half outside half Pearce dropped a goal which turned out to be the only score of the half and meant that Bryncethin moved into the final, which will be held at the Millennium Stadium on 21st April. Man of the match for Bryncethin was wing forward Mark Thomas and there were good performances from Steven Walters, Kevin Baldwin and outside half Gareth Pearce.
Tonna Seconds 22 V 7 Bryncethin
Bryncethin lost a friendly against a strong Tonna side. Chris Williams scored a try in the first half, which was converted by Andrew Veasey. There was good performances from Neil Bryant and Paul Evans.
Bryncethin 41 v 5 Baglan
It was a game of two halves as Bryncethin came to life in the second period to score 6 tries against division 5 visitors Baglan.
Even though the home side had the better of the first half they only had a penalty from Gareth Pearce for their efforts at half time.
The second half was a completely different matter with tries from Paul Watkin, Garteh Brooking, Rowan Hobbs (2), Gareth Pearce and Jamie Davies, of which Pearce converted 4.
There were good performances from hooker Huw King, second row Gareth Brooking, scrum half Lloyd Jenkins and skipper Jamie Davies. Next week Bryncethin entertain Rhymney seconds as they attempt to keep their one hundred percent record in the Cardiff and District League before they travel to Blackwod to face Caerau Ely in the semi final of the Worthington Cup the week after.
Congratulations to Andrew Bayliss and brothers Gareth and Rhoddy Davies who have been selected for the Welsh Districts squad to face Germany at Sardis Road next Saturday.
Clwb Rygbi Caerdydd 18-19 Bryncethin - Boot-iful by cool Pearce
BRYNCETHIN snatched a last-gasp victory to reach the semi finals of the Worthington Districts Cup and remain on course for a successful defence of the trophy.
But Clwb Rygbi Caerdydd pushed them to the very limit and were a little unlucky to lose.
They scored first with a converted try but outside half Gareth Pearce reduced the deficit with a well struck penalty.
Some excellent combined handling by backs and forwards led to a crowd-pulling try wide out by winger Russell Johns, with Pearce kicking the difficult conversion.
But Clwb Rygbi came back with two penalties to take a 13-10 lead at the half time interval.
Pearce levelled the scores with a penalty early in the second half but some poor defence by Bryncethin let in the home side for an unconverted try to regain the lead.
Pearce landed his third penalty midway through the half to reduce the arrears to two points but Bryncethin were frustrated by some good defence from the home side and it looked like they were going out of the competition.
But with the last kick of the game, Pearce held his nerve to slot over the winning penalty.
Bryncethin 16 Caerau Ely 10 - Bryncethin remain unbeaten
BRYNCETHIN maintained their unbeaten record in the Cardiff and District League but had to battle all the way against visitors Caerau Ely.
The Cardiff side took the lead with a try before Lloyd Jenkins narrowed the gap with a penalty to leave the half time score at 5-3.
The second half was fairly even until outside-half Gareth Pearce dropped a goal to give the home side the slightest of leads.
Some excellent work by Andrew Bayliss and Jimmy Smith led to skipper Jamie Davies crossing under the posts for a try which Jenkins converted to increase the home side's lead to 13-5.
Jenkins was again on the score sheet with a penalty before the visitors scored their second try too late to influence the outcome.
There were good performances from props Neil Bryant and Nigel Evans, lock Gareth Brooking, No.8 Paul Evans and centre Rhoddy Davies.
Next week Bryncethin travel to Cardiff to take on Clwb Rygbi Caerdydd in the quarter finals of the Worthington Welsh Districts Cup in a repeat of last year's final.

BRYNCETHIN ran in seven tries in winning this game in the Cardiff & District League quite comfortably.
Lloyd Jenkins scored 20 points with two tries and five conversions and there were further tries by Ray Bayliss (2), Mike Richards, Gareth Davies and Rhoddy Davies.
Bridgend Sports Seconds 5 Bryncethin Seconds 46
BRYNCETHIN had an emphatic eight-try victory over the Sports in an entertaining game at the Bandstand Field.
Huw King led the way with two tries while others came from Rowan Hobbs, Steve Jones, Tony Thorne, skipper Leighton Jenkins, Mike Bodwen and Dai Price.
Thorne converted three of the tries.
Caerleon 9 Bryncethin 25 - Away day cup joy
BRYNCETHIN remained on course for a successful defence of their Worthington Welsh Districts Cup with an excellent win at former winners Caerleon.
Winger Gareth Davies gave Bryncethin the lead following up a clever kick from captain Jamie Davies.
Outside half Gareth Pearce then kicked a penalty and drop goal to make it 11-0.
Pearce was also involved in Bryncethin's second try when his up and under was gathered by flanker Mark Thomas, who combined with fellow back rower Andrew Bayliss to put winger Russell John over.
Pearce converted and Caerleon replied with a penalty which made it 18-3 at half time.
Bryncethin had to weather a terrific start to the second half by Caerleon who failed to penetrate the visitors' defence and had to settle for two more penalties.
But Bryncethin eventually broke free and Davies crossed for a try converted by Lloyd Jenkins to take Bryncethin into the quarter finals again.
Gareth Brooking and Ray Bayliss had good games for Bryncethin and full back Mike Richards made some powerful counter attacks.
